Beauty in the Unexpected
When creating art, we use an array of unusual materials. Some of our favorites include rodent bones from dissected owl pellets, hibiscus-dyed rabbit vertebrae, discarded resin teeth, and vintage postcards. Within any lost or forgotten item, we see opportunity for new life.
~Remi~
Oddity memorial display featuring unknown bone fragment, moss, dried florals, and a preserved pet jumping spider. AK.

Frames, canvases, and oddity displays are purchased through secondhand and vintage retailers.
Natural materials are primarily collected by Open Eye Studio. Some exceptions include crystals and gems and a small portion of our taxidermy collection.
Retailers include small and local businesses.
Oddities including animal or insect parts are obtained ethically and are not harmed for the purpose of art.
Want to know more? Contact us with any questions! We are always learning and aiming to improve our practices.

Avery began painting at an early age. They remember learning how to paint in acrylic over canvases from Goodwill. Trees, critters, and swirling scenes were a favorite subject the 7-year-old artist.
Avery went on to spend time studying watercolor in college, and fell in love with another medium. These days, Avery hopes to never stop learning new ways to express their ever-changing view of the world.
Avery loves camping around a good fire, exploring the outdoors, especially moss, and treasure hunting.
